Gradual Reopening of Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel
Dear OLGC and Cowboy Catholic Family,
Beginning May 1, 2020, we are reopening public Masses limited to ten persons per Mass. You all remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays. You are not required to be at Mass at all during this time, but we do want to make it available for those who want to participate. If you are not feeling well, you are required to stay home.
We have added Masses to our normal schedule to accommodate more people. The times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation are also adjusted. This is our schedule until the restrictions are lifted:
Monday-Friday* 11:15am and 12:20pm
Saturday 4:00pm* and 5:00pm
Sunday 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 5:00pm, and 6:00pm
Confessions: 3:00-4:00pm Saturday and 4:00-5:00pm Sunday
Adoration Hours To be announced at a later time
*Friday 11:15am and Saturday 4:00pm are priority times for our elderly parishioners who are in good health.
You may reserve a designated Mass time for you and your family on the Cowboy Catholics website. If you are 70 or older, please contact the office to be assigned your Mass time.
These Mass times are intended to serve OLGC parishioners and students of McNeese State University. If you do not belong to our parish, please be considerate and contact your church office.
An informational flyer from the Diocese of Lake Charles is being provided which outlines plans for disinfection and instructions for Holy Communion. Please read through this as you prepare to enter the Church.
I want to thank all of you for your patience and prayerful watching during this time. I am overjoyed at the opportunity to once again celebrate Mass with you in person! Let us continue to exercise charity and patience as things develop. May God be with us and the Virgin Mother protect us!
See you soon,
Fr. Nathan Long
